Refinishing vs. Warranty

I was wondering if changing the finish on you handgun would void the manufacturer's warranty. Anyone have any experiences? Taurus and Springfield Armory both offer lifetime warranties, and SA will refinish your gun if you send it in. If someone other than the manufacturer does this, will they still honor the warranty?

Unless the finish contributed to the problem, and they can prove that is the case, then they must warranty the problem.

It's no different with customizing your car or your motorcycle. It's all covered in the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act.
