I just ordered a RRA AR 15 in 6.8spcII for heavy brush and close range hog hunting. My old eyes just can't focus well anymore with irons on rifles. Still work OK with handguns but rifle irons just blur too dang much for me. I don't want to glass this since most encounters will be either on running hogs or close range in brush.

Now, my problem here is, I also have a color variation problem. It takes me a few seconds for my brain to process RED. I have used a few reflex and holo sites at the range, but in the field this problem would be a pretty bad problem for jumped hogs. Anyone know of any reflex site makers that use either a dark green or amber for the dot or holo? Other than EoTech. Sorry but the only ones I found from them that has color variations cost more than the damn rifle. I've already blown WAY to much on gun gear this year and the boss (wife) is already looking at me crosseyed. Can't be having that. Just need something that would be fairly tough and stay on zero well. Need it to be a color that I can pick up immediately at shoulder.

Met with a buddy of mine this morning. He brought over a site he picked up a few months ago from Primary Arms. https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms_MultiReticle_Red_Dot_Sight_PAM3M_p/pam3m.htm

Not sure how well this will work in low light, but I CAN pick up this ret immediately. It's just a bit "light", or maybe hazy is the word, for about 2 seconds but I believe I can deal with it. I put the brightness level to around 9 and brought it up to my eye and it seems I can get on target reasonably well. I do know I would be much better off with an amber or green but I am not paying 400 to 1000 for a reflex site. He's going to let me use his until they come in stock at Primary Arms. Maybe between now and then I could find one that is comparable in price with an Amber dot.

If you haven't looked at one before, and you get a chance, take a look through a Leupold 1-4 shotgun scope with a heavy duplex reticule.

I have a few low power scopes Haxby. The intent for this package will be for "jumped" hogs on the run more or less. At closer in ranges that I expect, a scope will be limited at best. A reflex type siting system will give me much more field of view at a running hog. Don't have a limit for eye relief either with a reflex. Basically, just an all around better setup for the situations I expect. We will be flushing hogs with dogs as well as brush beating.
