Regal Theaters

Most of my coworkers, wherever I've worked, have been fairly skittish about guns. Fortunately most places I've worked have been explicitly gun friendly. Except for one hotel which had a "ALL GUNS, including LEO and especially SS must store their guns in the hotel gunsafe."

There are two reasons for this, one reasonable, the other not. The first is that a SS agent once shot out one of our big plate glass windows in one of our nicer suites when he was cleaning his gun. Way to fail to clear your firearm, idiot.

The second reason is that our head of security was a little tinpot dictator, and she loved lording over LEO.

For my part, I have had to tell people that they were printing before, and indicated the way to the nearest restroom to fix that.

My local B & B cinema has a sign out front that says "no open carry of knives or firearms" this obviously means they are fine with conceal carry. I respect them greatly for this policy.

Dear Regal Cinemas,

Last Saturday I was planning to go to my local Regal Cinemas. About two hours before my wife and I were going to go, a neighbor of mine informed me that Regal forbids its patrons from carrying in its theaters, and thus, prevents its patrons from protecting themselves, if a crisis were to occur. It is unfortunate that you take this stance, with a mountain of evidence to suggest that people hellbent on causing harm will do so whether there is a sign prohibiting one from carrying or not. Further, it has been suggested that those who commit terrible acts seek out places where people are prohibited from carrying.

Because of this, and until it changes, I will not visit a Regal Cinema anywhere, and will seek businesses that view my right to protect my life as importantly as they view their right to charge what they'd like to make profits. That is why I went to a different theater last Saturday.

I hope you reconsider your position, and allow law abiding citizens to protect themselves, and their families, while visiting your establishments. Until that time comes, I will do my part in ensuring that those I know become aware of this, and choose better alternatives to Regal Cinema. Thank you.

Again Folks, Thank You for your support. Ohio is a pretty gun friendly state, but some businesses just don't get it. Ohio is one of a handful of states where the signs carry legal weight and as such, it's not a simple matter of them asking you to leave, walking inside *is* a crime.

The more calls, emails and letters they get the better.

Besides, there are a lot of young kids working there we need to keep employed.

In Va the sign only nean they can ask you to leave and if you do not you can be arrested for trespassing. I ignore them and if I can I take them down. ;)

Yesterday at a Regal here in Richmond area, 2 16 year olds was robbed at gunpoint... I CC carry there, pee on their sign.

I just sent them an e-mail.

I recently learned of your theater policy prohibiting law abiding citizens from carrying concealed firearms. Any company that values the American Constitution or the safety of their customers that little will no longer receive my business (or that of my family and friends). I will make it clear in any social function that I will never attend one of your theaters while this anti-American policy is in affect.

Please reconsider prohibiting the Right of your customers to defend themselves and their children. Until then I will support a boycott of your organization.

Thank you for your time.
