I am considering buying a Springfield XD 45.

I am wanting either the 5" or the 4" sub compact.

I will NOT be carrying this concealed very much. It will be used as Self Protection, Home Protection and the Gun Range.

I also already have a S&W model 910 9mm and a Bersa 380.

What I am wondering is about the accuracy difference and the recoil difference.

Thank you for you help,

Since you're not planning on carrying the gun much...go w/ the fullsize & take every advantage of the longer sight radius ;)

XD45

The XD45 compact comes in either the 4" or 5" barrels. you can use the 10 round or 13 round mags.

Here is my XD45C with the XD40SC in front.

once again i agree with 10-ring, go for the full size model, longer sight radius a little more accurate, and heck everybody needs a full size gun right?!

The five incher will be the best, the 45 is already a slow movin round, usually barrels under 4 1/4" lose velocity very quickly. If that dosen't bother you, then the 4" would be fine, but I would go with the 5" if you wont be carrying it concealed very often.
