Releasing the Safety on the California Edition Seecamp LWS-32

For those who own this version of the Seecamp LWS-32, how do you release the safety? I find it awkward to push it over with the firing hand, it seems to take two hands for me to hold the gun and manipulate that little button. Does anyone else have a problem with it?

For those who don't tknow what this is, Seecamp had to put a safety on his .32ACP pistol to sell it in certain states, the People's Commonwealth of Massachusetts being one of them. It is a little piece of metal that is in the top of the trigger, just under the frame. Push it to the right and it keeps the trigger from moving and the gun from firing. Push it back to the left and the gun is ready to fire. It's probably the least obtrusive thing he could do, but it IS a PITA.

I'm curious why you engage the safety?

Just don't use it. Put the gun in a good holster and forget it. Larry never intended for the safety to be there, he only added it so he could sell to us in less fortunate locales.

I even thought about taking it out completely, but so far have left it in place.

Your great state said it had to be their . Have they passed a law saying you must use? If not forget its there.

I really don't disagree with what you have said. However I am looking for someone who has experience with this safety and whether they can manipulate it easily or not.

I played with it a little when I first got the gun. The edge of the safety can sometimes get caught on one of the spring "legs" that holds it in place. For that reason, if nothing else, I would never use it.

I'm also Lefty, which means the safety is on the wrong side for me. Not such a big deal if I'm carrying it weak side as a BUG, but again, enough reason for me not to use it.

I think Larry did a good simple design, and made it as inobtrusive as possible. I have not asked him if he thought its presence was a good idea, but I have a feeling he'd say, "NO!"

(Looking back at what I just wrote, I realize it sounds like I know him personally, which I don't. I have spoken with him on the phone several times, though. He's very nice)
