This thread doesn't need to be very long I hope. It is my understanding and research seems to confirm 356 and 358 are the same except one has a rim (356) and the other does not. If so I can reload 356 with 358 dies? What does our corporate knowledge say? And thanks. Going through my dad's dies versus my own and firearms he left me to ensure I keep what I need and find new homes for what I don't. He had 358 Winchester dies and a 356 Winchester Rifle. Thanks.

Yup, they're listed as .358/356 Dies:

You'll need a different shell holder. (RCBS #2....you probably know that, but I stated it here, just to make sure.)

Edit: I used to have a Marlin 336-ER in .356. It was hard to tell which end of the rifle was more punishing....

Thanks. Only the rim is different. My Marlin in 45-70 makes everything kick less.

I know the feeling. Whenever I start biatching about recoil I grab my sub 7lb Rem M7 in .350Rem Mag. After that, everything else is pleasurable..

Don't know if you're interested, but Midway has a sale on Speer .358 180 grn "hot core" flat tips, $36.49/100 VS. $43.99 and they're doing the free shipping right now:

I bought a couple boxes for my soon to be .358Win.
