I have Ruger 45LC/45ACP that I am reloading for 45LC using IMR4227, Hornady 250gr .452 JHP. What would be the best powder charge for target shooting? Thanks

Check the books on their recommendations. However, I've found that, using that powder, near case full heavy loads are going to work best.

Be sure to try magnum primers. I've found that they seem to give me more CONSISTENT results.

For plinking/target type loads, another powder may be your best bet.

Please be aware that if you have a "flat-top" convertable blackhawk such as the Lipsey's guns stay away from ruger only loads in 45 colt. In .45 acp I like 5.2 grains of HP38 with a 230 plated round nose bullet. I'm currently working up loads in 45 colt with Trail Boss and 250 grain lead.
