Reloading nickel plated .40 brass?

I don't own a 10mm Kurz but have accumulated a small stash of nickel plated "incidental bycatch" policing my own brass.

I'm considering using it as trade bait. Are there any notable problems with loading the nickel stuff in .40? I'd just as soon toss it in the scrap can if it's gonna cause somebody else trouble.

I haven't reloaded the .40 but have reloaded other nickle cases. It's worked out for me. 9mm and 3030 are the 2 that come to mind.

No issues, loads just any other 10mm Kurz (Ha-ha).

I find that nickel plated pistols brass seems easier to resize, not that it's difficult to resize pistol brass anyways. Sizing the nickel stuff is just that much smoother.

for me, nickel tends to split a little faster, but reloads just fine and is easier for me to find on the ground.

I've been loading with nickel for .40 cal. and numerous other cartridges and it's great stuff. It actually provides a little bit more neck tension because it is thicker brass than yellow brass. Primers and bullets seat tighter, very noticably tighter.

I load nickel .40 mixed with 'regular' brass and have no issues. Same in .45 and 9mm and .380 and .38 special. I've had a couple nickel cases split in .38 but that's about it.

I pick out all the nickel brass and trade it off. It will prematurely wear your dies out. Now if you have a set of dies that you will only use for nickel brass, more power to you.

For the little nickel I find, I just save it until in have enough for a decent PIF or trade off.

No issues with the plated stuff.
I load my 10mm in nickel, and the .40 in brass. Makes it easier to sort.

I love nickle, cleans up much faster than brass too. I don't see how nickle would wear out tungsten carbide dies any faster than copper+zinc.

Could you please explain? I've been loading nickel in 9 mm, 38/357, 40, 30-30 and 7 mag for years with no damage or wear to dies.

I can't even fathom the possibility of nickel plated brass even scratching a tungsten carbide die, much less wear it out.

I use nickel .40 S&W brass for social work loads and brass cases for blasting ammo. No real reason. I also use nickel .357 cases for social work ammo and brass cases for blasting ammo.
