I have a Rem 1100 LT 20 with a 28" Rem-choke barrel. It shoots to point of aim and patterns well. I bought a 21" vent rib mod barrel, and it was fine also. I decided to have Tru choke tubes installed, and I think it got bent in shipping. When I shoulder it, the front sight is to the left, and the patterns are about 4+" left and 2+" low now. Any hope ? Does anyone straighten barrels, or would it be cheaper to just get another barrel ? The installation looks to be correct.

I'd be having a serious talk with the choke tube installer.

BTW: I used to ship barrels in the real heavy cardboard tubes rugs come rolled on.

Cut to length, leaving room for heavy padding on both ends.

Barrel wrapped in bubble-wrap.

Then 2" thick wood plugs cut from 2"x6" lumber screwed to the ends.

They are bullet-proof!

Trapshooters have "adjusted" (bent) their barrels for years.... google it out and go from there. One method, believe it or not, is to (controlled) whap the bbl down on a bag of shot...

Thanks for your comments. I never thought of the barrel being twisted, but it does look that way. I appreciate your taking the time to answer. Rollie

To update, after careful examination of the barrel, in the right light, I can see a dent on the barrel about 15" from the chamber. As the barrel was sent USPS, and returned Fedex, it would be hard to discover when it happened. This means the barrel was probably damaged in shipping, and very unlikely by the gunsmith.
As I have a 28" barrel that shoots to aim, I guess I will just put some kind of adjustable sights on the rib, and use it as a slug barrel.
Thanks for your interest. Rollie
