I Picked up a remington 141 pump action rifle at my local Gander mtn this past weekend. Pretty neat old rifle. I didnt even know what it was and it caught my eye so I went home and looked it up then immediately called to put it on hold. Its not the prettiest, and I got a super deal on it so I plan on actually using it on deer sometime.

So the question is.... Can i load SP bullets in the tube safely seeing as the bullets are canted in the tube? My searching has turned up mixed answers mostly with an "I dont know for sure" ending. Any input is much appreciated

You can load soft point bullets in it that is what the spirals are for. What caliber is it? I don't think REAL sharp bullets were made in any calibers it was made in.

The spiral magazine on the 141 lets you use the 150 grain pointed soft points. But the 200 grain Hornady Leverevolution load is more potent & would be a better choice. If you reload, you can put together some impressive deer thumpers.

My wife has a 141 in .35Rem, and yes, you can use pointed bullets. However, her rifle is deadly accurate with the 200 grain Remington core-Lokt loads.

craigman, great find and an excellent woods gun i've had mine for 35yrs given to me on my 12th bithday .The 141's are good shooters light on recoil and quick handlers that won't wear u out carrieing it around.Best of luck with it.Here is a pic of mine.
