I have a 541-T with a broken trigger housing. Seems they are not easy to find. At least the sources I have looked at. Rather than attempt to machine one from scratch, what I'd like to know is if there are any other Remington models that use the same, or at least an interchangeable trigger? I would buy either the entire trigger or just the housing (if it were compatible, otherwise just a 541 housing). I have all the pieces, but the front tab that retains the bolt stop pin broke away from the main part of the housing. That front tab is missing, so no chance of somehow reattaching it. If it's a zinc alloy I doubt it could be welded back in place anyway.
So I'm looking for suggestions on how to approach this. It seems from some advertisements that the 581 has a similar trigger, and people are dropping in the adjustable 541 trigger. Would this indicate that a 581 trigger would be a drop-in replacement for the 541? I'm not too concerned about the adjustments at this point.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
