Hey guys -new to your forum-

Quick question

I came into a Rem Model 700 BDL w/ bull barrel in .22-250 last week....made in 1970 according to Remington and came with an old Leupold 7.5X with AO w sunshade.....shot it today...shoots like a dream with the Remington green box 55 gr PSP and also shoots well with the Hornady Custom 60 grain......The gun is in good shape but barrel could use reblueing but not that bad...the gun was used only for hunting according to orginal owner...deer hunting at that in NC........any idea what the gun might be worth--I've got 500.00 in it

Thanks for your time-;)

I bought one about two years ago made in '67. It's in very nice shape but has a few scratches on the floor plate. Never had any load shoot more than an inch and some down in the threes with H380 and Hornady 50gr. V-Max. Came with a period Weaver 12X AO with Weaver rings/bases. Paid $500m OTD. Really like mine. :D

Sounds like you did very well. Might have a gunsmith scope the bore if you haven't already. Then again, if it shoots well, why bother?

I found a Browning A-Bolt 22-250 w/Redfield 6-18 about 5 years ago, excellent condition, about 700 rounds through it for $350. Just my lucky day. :)

I bought it in December though, which is a no-no around here. I got out of it by carrying it in the house and saying "Merry Christmas, dear". Now if I want to shoot it, I have to ask my wife's permission, because she took it to heart, it's HER rifle. :D

PS, I still have to clean it and reload for it.

Thanks guys for the replies-I figured (hoped) I came out ok on it-I dont see very many of these particular guns around or for sale....I've been wanting one for a long time

The guy I bought it from said he didnt do any varmit hunting with the gun or any shoooting other than shooting deer with it......I might take it to a gunsmith I know and get his opinion on the bore but it really seems to be in good shape.....I doubt this gun has had 200 rounds thru it

Larry- I actually had my wifes blessing on this one-dont know how that came about- :D
