I have a Remington 700 BDL with the curved but plate. I am needing a good recoil pad and cant find one. I traditionally have used Pachmayr decelerator pre fit pads but they are hard to find now. I have found one but think it's for straight but plate. The Rem supercell is for straight but plate. Any ideas?

Could you post a picture of the rifle OP? I don’t know if I’ve ever seen what you’re talking about.

He is probably talking about one with a aluminum plate. Some have a curve the later ones where flat underneath. I have a adl stock with the curve and a few extra plates to.

My wife's .243s basket weave bdl stock had a curve, and aluminum plate. Since I was installing a longer pad I cut it off flat. I've still got the plate around somewhere

The butt should be cut off square to make the stock, either the same length as with the original buttplate, or one that is better fitted to you, considering how you're normally dressed for hunting or shooting. You have the opportunity to make it a bit longer, or shorter than it was. Care is needed to provide the correct angle for the straight cut, usually 90 degrees from the comb.

A drastic angle either largerr or shorter than 90 degrees from the comb tends to cause difficulty in mounting the rifle quickly/accurately and to provide straight-back recoil. It also looks weird. The picture is of my old 700 ADL with a Limbsaver I installed several years ago. You should get on the Limbsaver website for information about selection, size measurement, etc. They have pads that match Rem. 700 butt shapes. IMG_3773.JPG
