Remington 700 LA stock question

Hello all,

I'm new here, and have a quick question regarding stocks on my Rem 700 7mm mag BDL. Currently I have an old Bell & Carlson on it thats seen its share of wear and tear. The B&C does have some flex to it and I'm looking at a used Mcmillan right now. The only issue is that the Mcmillan came off a 700 LA that had the remington factory detachable magazines. It has that weird notch cut into the stock where the button to release the mags would be.

So my question is can I drop in a bdl action and hinged floor plate into a stock cut for the Rem DM mags?

I don't think it will work as is. It may be possible to modify the stock and make it work. If the price is right on the McMillan it would be enough of an upgrade over the B&C stock that I'd buy the McMillan and convert my BDL to use magazines.

Call McMillan and ask them to be sure.
