Rem 870 folding stock question

will the 3rd party folding stocks for the 870 also fit on the 870 20 gauge?

also....is it like the Mossberg in that you need a really long screwdriver to get the factory stock off?

12 and 20 gauge 870's use the same stock, in my experience.

And no, you can use a normal screwdriver to get the factory stock off.
 
Just a note too: on the older models you do seem to need a longer screwdriver to get the stock off. My dad and brother both had older 870's (dad's from early 1970's - brother's from mid-late 1980's) that they replaced the wood stocks on them for synthetics, and I needed a really long screwdriver that would reach down.

On the newer synthetic stocks they're more hollow so the screwdriver can go farther in without bottoming out (and I think the screw itself is longer too putting the head closer to the butt).
