Rem/Rand 1911 Repark worth $859

    Is a restored Remington Rand 1911A1 worth the $859.00 price tag? It looks like it just came off the line with crisp markings and even the heat treat line in the slide is very visable. It's sitting next to a mostly original Springfield 1911A1 that has almost no bluing and a bubba'ed original rear sight that looks welded up to fit a really wide slot cut. That one is almost $1000! Does this guy know what he's selling? They've been there for a couple of months, meanwhile he is selling XD's like hotcakes. If it were about $200 less I'd be on it like stink on poop.

    Yes. Remington Rands are some of the best WWII 1911A1's, and even $850ish is less than the new WWII and WWI repros. Many GI issued guns have been reparked at arsenals, and if it is as nice as you say, I don't think you'll be badly invested.

    Yes, I agree. That's about the going price for a really nice "restored" one.
