My 11/87 performs flawlessly with 2 3/4 shells but will not consistently throw out 3" shells. I use it mainly with buckshot, Remington shells are roughly 1/4" longer than Winchester hulls when shot. The shell is too long to be thrown out, this seems to be the hangup in 1 out of 3 Winchester shells as well. Anyone else have these issues?

My 1187 3.5" super mag has problems with 3 1/2" Fiocchi only. All other brands of 3 1/2 inch shells eject fine

I have been shooting both 3 inch and 2 3/4 inch Winchester and Remington buckshot loads (double ought mostly) with no ejection troubles with either (or with Federal) in my 11-87 since 1988. It also has never given me trouble when shooting #1 buckshot from any of those 3 companies...

It's an 1187 Premier, if that matters. I shot 3" out of it for years, didn't shoot it for several years then started having issues. The tip of the spent shell on most Remington shells won't clear all the way to be ejected, even done manually. I'm wondering if there's any way the action isn't sliding back far enough and somehow it's still functioning

Numerous times, which is why I'm confused. I've shot hundreds of 2 3/4 shells out of it since this started and haven't had a malfunction. Put 5 3" winchester shells in and by the 3rd shell, it hangs up, Remington 3" does it the first she'll. The next shell is always out of the magazine and bolt isn't locked back, everything is like it should be except the shell hasn't been thrown out.

I had one years ago that would often choke on light loads, but it always worked with the heavy loads. I'm thinking it is an ammo problem, not a gun problem.

If it's not being thrown out, it's possible the extractor beak has broken off. I had this happen on my G3 (fancy 11-87) and the shells would extract but not always eject. It also could be the ejector stud on the barrel extension is damaged, but I've never seen that.
