I noticed Dick's Sporting Goods has an 11-87 Super Mag all camo on sale for $550 after mail in rebate.

I don't like the idea of mail in rebates but I was wondering if this is a good price.

I was also wondering what would be the difference between this and the SPS version?

Any input would be great! Thanks all!

This gun is a great turkey gun. Ive bagged many birds with it. As for sporting clays, NO WAY. This gun is meant for magnum loads.

So the 11-87 super mag would not cycle 2 3/4" shells well?

Mine does, as long as they are 3 1/4 dram 1 1/8 oz loads. Mine came with a Barrel Seal Activator, which is nothing more than an extra ring added to the gas piston assy. for firing lighter loads, but I've never used it. I've fired everything from the aforementioned load up to 3.5 in waterfowl loads without the B.S.A. However It won't cycle 3 dram 1 oz loads without it. I didn't have it with me that day so the jury is still out on the lighter loads with the B.S.A. installed.

I don't need it but I wanted it. I got it along with a box of 3.5" magnum turkey loads. All they guys at the gun store were laughing at me when I bought them. Last year I took a turkey with a 3" high velocity turkey load and it did fine but I figured I might as well try it.

Hopefully with the Barrel Seal Activator it will shoot regular 2 3/4" shells. Anyone have any experience? I would love to be able to shoot skeet with the gun.
