Remington 11-87 technical question

When i got my 11-87 (used) I detail stripped it for cleaning. When I took out the trigger group the feed latch fell out too. When I reassembled it I had to try twice to make it stay. Is it a problem for this to fit so loosely?

The shell latch is staked in. Take it to a smith, preferably one who has the tooling.

I don't see where you're from, but SRG is right on. Most gunsmiths that regularly work on shotguns will have the equipment needed to restake it. I'd look on the ad bulletin board at your local shotgun club for a guy that specializes in scatterguns. Other options are large, reputible companies (the guys at my Gander Mtn know me by sight).
