I have an 1100 LT 20 with synthetic stock that I need to either replace the stock or increase LOP. Right now my thumb is about 1/2" from my nose and I feel a little "cramped" compared to my Browning O/U. Two questions are who makes a relatively cheap replacement stock (can be wood) or which recoil pad will give the synthetic stock about an extra 1-1.5" to LOP?

Sounds like what I faced with my synthetic 1100 in 12 ga. I did not find a gunsmith that would mess with the synthetic stock at all. Mine was hollow inside and would have been difficult to fit with a spacer etc. However, if you will go with a wood stock, then many options are there for spacers and pads etc. Many of the gun parts houses such as Numrich offer stock replacements.

Just for reference... My LT 20ga 1100 has a 14" length of pull.

Thanks for the advice. Right now my 1100 has a 13.5" LOP. My O/U has 14.25" LOP. I'm really getting used to that length so I'd like to make my 1100 as close as possible. The 1/2" hard rubber spacer might be the cheapest way to go.

I think rcmodel called the best approach to your problem and the gun can then be returned to factory normal at any time without modifications.

You may have to put in a longer screw with the spacers, but that's not a big deal.

A slip-on pad about 3/4" thick should solve your problem. Just be sure to get the size that fits the stock snugly. You don't want it to be too small to get on, nor too large and be a loose fit.

Stock length of pull is 14", so a replacement stock and a 1/4" spacer and you are where you want to be. I hate to share this, but since I don't appear to need any for quite awhile, there are a ton of stocks on eBay, cheap.
