hello,
i am pleased to say i'm a new member to THR . I also was wondering if anyone has any experience with remington's 115 grain jhp? I found some at wal-mart for 13.98 a box of 100. I currently carry fed. hydra-shok 124 gr.
I haven't heard anything bad about them, but also not much good. Is this round even worth messing with?
THANK YOU

i've had good luck with remmie 115 grainers across the board. i think they are great practice ammo. if you feel confident in them carry them. i've never had a misfire with them, but i havent shot a ton either. probably only a couple hundred rounds worth.

Welcome to THR.

Remington also sells a .45 ACP version of these. I haven't shot the 9mm, but have shot the .45 stuff. Accuracy was decent, but the ammo is a bit dirty, so you would end up using a bit more elbow grease when cleaning your pistol.

Work smarter, not harder. Use MPro7. Stuff really clean up a lot, less elbow grease.

This ammo works well in my 92FS and USP9.

I use Remington standard hollowpoints in some auto pistol calibers due to the feed reliable bullet profile but in 9x19 I generally use the +P version.

I've shot several boxes in my CZ-75B and it was fully reliable and quite accurate. Checking around, I found gun magazine articles that show velocity in a Browning Hi-Power as being some 1185 feet per second.

I imagine that it will do what you need a 9mm to do, most of the time, and it's priced rightl

I like the Wally value packs of Rem 115 gr jhp. Small complaint is that they exhibit a little more muzzle flash at night. Good stuff though.

Have shot a few boxes of Remington 115gr +P's through my 9mm glocks and beretta with good results.I like them ok and keep about 2 boxes of it for SHTF type deals.

But I have on stock much more of the newer and more reputable loads used/favored by law enforcement.Such as gold dots, remington's golden sabers, winchester ranger sxt and corbons.

I use it and like it!

In fact, right now I am using it as carry ammo, does anyone think this is a bad move?
I've wondered if there is that much difference between this round and say Hydra-Shok or other premium rounds, or at least enough to justify the cost difference.
In otherwords, is it okay to make this my carry ammo or am I giving up a lot in terms of ballistics?
