Remington UMC 115 GR. JHP L9MM1B. How does this ammo perform as carry ammo? Labeled as For practice and Personal Defense.
My neighbor has used it in his Glock 17 for years and claims that one time he had to shoot a rabid big dog and it performed really well and had the desired effect. anyone use this as carry ammo?

I have used it as carry ammo, but mostly as a less expensive way to function test a new gun for feeding hollowpoints. I've never shot anything with it but paper, but every round did feed, fire and shuck as it was supposed to. I did note more muzzle flash. Premium defense loads have flash-retardant powder.

I've done some "backyard" tests with the round but I decided against it for any kind of carry. It is way too dirty and has a bunch of muzzle flash. At the time I also had a Keltec P11 and a Bersa 9mm and neither shot it very accurately. I prefer the Federal 115gr JHPs over it. Better yet is the WWB 115gr or 147gr JHPs. They are much cleaner, generally more accurate, and has less muzzle flash while still being inexpensive. I'll carry that if I don't have any HSTs around.
