Remington 1187! Why does it seem that this shotgun gets no respect?

Millions of happy Remington auto owners and millions of Remington auto haters. Got my first one in 1963 and still shoot it and still love it, and have four others. Have owned several more along the way. Zero bad experiences, but the early 11-87s did not handle as good as the 1100s.

"I wonder if the firing pins that broke in my benelli sbe1 were poorly made or just under engineered to take 3.5 in Goose loads?"

Were you shooting Remington ammo?

I used someone elses 11-87 in 20ga and beat SIG Academy instructors at shotgun. I don't know the name of the challenge I did but its where 5 clays are in stands at different distances and you have to reload once in your course of fire. My time for breaking and reloading once was 5.08 seconds while the second best was an Academy instructor with a time of 7.22 seconds. First time I shot that gun and tried a reload like that. My only other experiance before was with a antique Auto 5 clone.
