On our way home from Kentucky we swung by the Sportsmans Warehouse in Rochester to get some SP and LP primers. I was expecting to be allowed 200 of each flavor, at a price of $7.99 per 100. To my delight, they gave me a brick each of CCI 500 and Remington 2-1/2. I was further filled with holiday joy when I looked at the receipt and found the Remingtons were only $54.99. If my "fun budget" wasn't at a year-end low I'd have gone back in for more. Those in the market might want to check their local SW and see if conditions are the same.

thanks for the Heads Up!

I'm amazed that I can still get them there for that. I wonder if my store lifted the one brick per person limit. I have to check. I just loaded a 1000 9mm with the 1 1/2 Remington primers, shot 200 of them yesterday and had no problems at all.
No pierced primers or any other issues.
I was right up there around max load according to Hodgdon.

The background check only applies to ammo, correct?

Hope this is a sign of good things to come! I love the overseas primer invation, it helps things along by dropping domestic prices quicker.
The same thing happened around 2011 or so with overseas ammunition sales in the US. Even brands like Federal put their name on overseas product (Federal Independence) I'm hoping in another year or 2 Ginex, Cheddite, or that Argentine company won't bother to try because our prices will be back where they should.
I'm hoping that 4.5 to 5 cents per will become the norm again.
