Remington 552 Gallery Special

Does any know what was different about these as opposed to the standard Remington Model 552? I know it has a .22 short chamber but were there any other differences?

Also, does anyone know if the receivers on the Remington 552 are steel or aluminum?

should be steel receivers, the gs wasa a shorts only model, and they are going for a small fortune right now. One of those , in nylon 66, typically goes for 500 and up, with cherry models cresting 900 bucks now.

all of the 552 s i have seen had aluminum receivers. i have never seen the gallery model.

you were right first time rangerruck,holding one in my hand,removed bolt and i have a magnet stuck to it

hmm, I will have to check mine, it sure looks aluminum. now my 241 gs is def steel, it feels about 1/4 inch thick with it.

willie t, i am interested in your gun, what year of mfg? i am a big fan of 552, but have always wished they were all steel.

If you want steel, you gotta find a 24/241



But they don't do short, long and long rifle like the 552.

the 241 they did for the long rifle, and they did a gs model as well. I 've got
one of the gs models, it is the coolest rifle I own. it is such a light spring, it will cycle cb shorts.
