Hello fellow outdoorsman, I recently bought a Remington 700 .22-250 sps varmint ( 26 inch barrel/ 1 :14 twist )... reasonably noted, 50 to 55 grain are the sweet spot for barrel length and twist. The rifle is going to be used for coyotes 0-500 yards and with a wild hair in a blue moon 700. I broke in the barrel with Hornady Superformance vmax .50 grains. They shot well. My main concer is that due to the current availability of this particular ammunition, I will not get the needed time at the range to learn enough about my rifle. Does anybody know about this rifle's likes and dislikes?? I simply want good factory ammo that is usually available! Thank you for your time!

IMO factory ammo for that cartridge is not going to become more available. My humble suggestion is: buy up what you can, don't be fussy - and then reload. You'll improve your hit/miss ratio on those 500+ yard shots, too.

I have used Hornady, Winchester Silver Tip and Privi Partisan in mine. It performs well with all of those but likes the Silver Tip for some reason.

Buy a box of every 40-50 grain load that you can find and test em for accuracy. All rifles are different. My buddy has one and it likes the Winchester white box 40 or 45 varmint loads the best. Bed it and tune the trigger before you do anything, it will make it easier to test accuracy.
