What years did Remington do the 700 in 30-06 without a boxed magazine. I am looking at acquiring a 700 and was curious about approx year/model. I have a few photos included. Also how much would you pay for the rifle? Thanks!

Looks like it was used a little bit, not much...I would offer $275-$325, the seller will probably want more, but there are better deals to be found if he does.

I am offering $300 right now, I am waiting to hear back. I had been looking at a 700 .257 Weatherby Magnum LSS. Seller wanted a bit too much for my pocketbook. I am looking to stick with the 700 or even a Savage in that price range. The 770s leave a bit to be desired and feel cheap to me...

looking at the stock, it looks very Parker/hale-ish, the muzzle and the rear site, also lends me to believe it is made in the 60's or possibly the 70's...

jmr40 thanks for the link. I found out that my first rifle mod 700 was made in 1962. According to wikipedia it was the first year they were released to the public.

That looks a good deal like one I bought 2 years ago for $300 so you're right about on with that price. Good luck, they're a fine rifle.

Thanks guys! I did get it and I pick it up next week. I will have some more pictures when I get the rifle in my hands! Any recommendations on scope mounts? Last pair I purchased was a set of Millett's for my 597... Also any scope recommendations? I was looking at a Bushnell Elite 3200 4x-12x 40mm with the Multi-X reticle or the Leupold VX-I 4x-12x 40mm LR Duplex Reticle.
