Two questions: how many out there own one or more Remington 700 Classic models? And, mine is a .30-06, but according to the sources I have read Remington has never made the Classic in .30-06. What about that?

I have now located a site that says they did make it in .30-06 in early years, but not in the limited editions. Maybe that's the answer to my second question.

The 1st few years the Classics were a regular production rifle offered in all of the common chamberings. Later, they were a limited run with only 1 offering each year and usually in less common chamberings. I no longer own one, but have had 2 in the past. One in 30-06, the other in 7mm Rem mag.

i own five, 221 fireball, 6.5x55 swede, 280rem, 300win mag and a 375 H&H mag. eastbank.

Way back in about 1986 or 1987, I had that year's classic offering (.338 Win Mag). It was a really nice rifle, but wow did it have brutal recoil, far worse than my Fibermark .300 Wea Mag.

Ive got an older (non special run) in 6mm and a special run gun in 300 H&H. Both great guns. Id buy another if rem started cataloging them again. To me there hands down the best looking Remington standard production stock. Only one that even gives them a run is the cdl wood stock.
