I recently purchased a slightly used Remington Model 700 LSS Mountain Rifle in 30-06. The rifle has been fired by the previous owner, but not by me. I have noticed that when chambering a round (Remington factory 150 grain NBT's, reloads would not close at all) the bolt handle closes with considerable more effort than other 700's I have encountered. All ammo fit my friend's model 700 30-06 fine.
The barrel/chamber area appears to be free from any obstructions. I was hoping someone could help me diagnose this problem. I am now in school and have little extra money to pay for a repair. Is this something Remington's warranty will cover? Thanks for your time.
