I was at a local flea market today and there was a 700 BDL, monte carlo walnut stock, blued stainless barrel, in 7mm rem mag for $450. The gun was a little older, but in great condition, and look as if it was hardly fired. So I decided to buy because I was looking for a new gun in 7-08 or .280, a little more power won't hurt right?

So to the question. Has anyone else seen/owned one of these? Below the 7mm rem mag designation, it says stainless steel. It is a factory barrel, stock, and everything else, never realized remington made this. Went to test it out today, but the range was closed, probably because of the holiday, but who knows, its been closed a lot lately for no reason. I will be going out next weekend, hopefully will be able to get pictures, will have to borrow a camera. Anyway, thanks in advance for helping.

One of my friends who is a little older and is very experienced said that, that is just how they made them back then so its nothing special, but a great rifle.

My father in law has a BDL stainless 7mag. It has killed a lot of deer since the 1960's. Its a great rifle. I think you found a gem. His still shoots great. Post some pics if you can.

Ya, I will try to get pics up, the gun is in fine condition, very small amount of surface rust, that easily came off with fine steel wool. Maybe one or two small scratches that are more like character marks now, bore is fine looking, the owner said that he didn't hunt anymore and hardly shot it because it kicked to hard so thats good too. Can't wait to shoot this weekend.
