I picked up this older Remington 722 in 300 savage made in 1949 to go with my Remington 700 classic 300 savage yesterday, I just took it apart and gave it a good cleaning, ex bore and in over all very good contidion. the butt stock was shortened about a inch with the original alu butt plate put back on. I was told it was shortened for the owners wife.

Very nice...... Don't think I've ever seen either model in that chambering. Wasn't it 2003 when the classic series featured the 300 Savage?

Nice rifle, did not know that they chambered the 700 in 300 Savage.
The 722 was the short action version of the 721 wasn't it ? I think I have a normal length stock if you are interested. I got it thinking it would be for a 721 but it's a shorter action.
Shoot me a PM.

I envy you. The 700 classic and the CDL are my favorite Remingtons. The 300 Savage is a fun round and will knock a whitetail on it's butt. Congrates. I had a 725 in 244, but like a dummy, I sold it.

my rem 725 is in 3006 and a good shooter.
