My mate just picked up a cheap short action remington 700 BDL as a project action

he's after a grey laminate stock, who makes one besides boyds?

I know about Richards Microfit Gunstocks, but they are a waste of time, they don't answer their phone or return emails

I got a nice grey laminate from a place in florida but they only make long action stocks for some reason :uhoh:

Really? Any more details? He specifically wants a grey laminate, and it is for a sporter not a varminter

you'll wait a minimum of 3-4months to get one from richards,

If you get one from boyds get a semi inleted and work it a little to get a good fit.

I got a VIP from byods and it was a little too inleted for my liking. the rear reciver bolt stuck up 1/8 of an inch which out of the reciever.

Aslo the rear hole for the action was more of an oval instead of a circle.

I'm still in the process of pillar bedding it to take care of that problem.

but for the money its hard to beat boyds.

you may want to try accurate innovations, but they are definately more $$$

That's interesting,

do boyds do stocks with checkering? Looking on their website it looks like they don't, which is a big put-off
