Which is the more accurate and inexpensive rifle? A remington 700 sps varmint in a bell and carlson stock or a savage model 10 police with accutrigger and accustock?

I had the 10fp in .223, very accurate rifle. It would shoot the 69 gr match bullets into 1 ragged hole. Sold it in Nov and bought a 700 SPS VS Stainless in .22-250, I like the 250 better. I knew going in the stock had to go and replaced it with a B&C Medalist and a Timney trigger. The 700 is now an accurate gun but not as accurate as the Savage .223. But this is comparing apples & oranges with these 2 cartridges, the .223 just gives better accuracy. But the .223 doesn't fit my needs which is why it's gone.

blonde or brunette.

Both are good. Had both, and both run.

BUT I will say that you have a major aftermarket advantage in finding parts for the remington. It can be tough to get bits and pieces for the savage.

I am sure it depends on the individual rifle. I am sure the B&C stock will still be a better stock than the accustock.

I would look at the CZ 527 Varmint with the H-S Precision Kevlar stock as well. The Single set trigger is nice. I like the trigger on my 550 even without setting it.
