I'm helping a friend setup a 7400 with a synthetic stock. The handguard is narrower than the wood stock. I found a mount but from what I have read it is for wood stocks and sits too low and is loose.

I like the idea but I don't think it will work Does anyone make an adapter that will work?
Th stock it pretty thin and I'm afraid mounting a swivel to the bottom will make it too long and may be in the way of the action.
Am I going to have to make a version of the Harris #3 but shorter?
He's a good lifelong friend and All help is appreciated. Thanks

I gotta saw that a 7400 isn't very high on the list of rifles I'd want to mount a bipod on.

Don't have one around to look at.....

Is it the thinner Ramline type of forend or the factory synth?
I'd get a used take off and mod as needed (add rail, flat head screw from inside).
