I have a Browning BAR 30-06 that needs a new stock and wondered if the Remington 7400 stock was interchangable? I found a nice synthetic stock that I'd like to put on it which is much cheaper than all the wood replacements I've seen.

NO they do not interchange, Took just a look at my BAR 300 Magnum and my older Remington 7400 to reach that otherwise obvious opinion. I agree that the Carlson is the way to go if you want a new synthetic stock.

Thanks for the info. I'd seen them mentioned in a other thread and it read as though they were essentially clones of each other like many of the other guns out there which are branded differently but are essentually the same. I didn't know so I though I'd ask.

That's how we all learn, read, ask and observe. Nobody was born knowing this stuff.

Not a single part of those two rifles is interchangeable, totally different designs.

Be happy you own the BAR and not the Remington....LOL

Why would it be interchangeable? They're two different rifles.
Why not? Have you ever seen a Remington Model 11 beside a Browning A-5? They are very much alike in appearance. Some external components such as stocks and fore grips may interchange with little or no modification. And yet they are two different guns.

To the OP; I have a 7400 and they and the BAR are entirely different and will not interchange. Wish mine was a BAR.

I havent seen a 7400 but I have seen the stock set which looks the same. As mentioned I only asked because I was reading another thread which was discussing the two rifles and from that i got the impression that they were clones of each other.
