I was wondering if anyone knows what a remington sportsman model 760 30-06 pump rifle might be worth? It was bought 25 years ago and has the springfield cartridge chamber. It's in perfect condition and used very little.
A friend wants to sell it and I want to give him a fair price. He no longer hunts and want to sell his hunting equiptment. Also is it a good rife as far as hunting goes? I have very little knowledge about rifles and would appreciate any info.

Thanks

I think it would be a fine hunting rifle for just about anything. As for price, I'm not sure, but I think they're usually quite inexpensive for what you get. Usually around $300 plus or minus.

Go to www.gunbroker.com and search for that rifle, and that should give you an idea of what the value is. Also search for auctions that have ended and see what the final prices were, that's the true market value.

That's an EXCELLENT game rifle.. deer, elk, antelope, black bear, hog... it will do it all.

While $300 is a fair price if it's in really nice condition $350 wouldn't be out of line. For $400-450 you can buy a new one.
