Remington 788 firing pin

Hey everyone. I just aquired a Remington 788. I Don't know anything about the year that it was made. I took it apart today cleaning everything and found a lot of corrosion on the firing pin. I've found some online but I'm not sure which to order. They made a late model .308 firing pin and they made another for the early .308, .243 and 6mm. Can anyone tell me how I can tell which firing pin I need from looking at it?
