Remington 870 Wingmaster

A friend of mine was recently given a Remington Model 870 Wingmaster. It is a 12 gauge chambered for 2 3/4' shells. It has a pistol grip and a folding metal shoulder stock.

The shoulder stock is stamped "For Law Enforcement Use Only".

Is this legal to own and use here in Texas?

Yes, as long as the overall length is still over 26" and the barrel is over 18".

However, some of the early Remington folders cut faces when shot. Check for sharp edges and maybe switch to a standard stock.

Good on both counts, overall length is 30" and the barrel is 19.5".

That folding stock alone will go for over $100 if you decided to swap it out.

I believe you have the same shotgun as mine. A 1960 model that was originally intended for police only but now is legal to own. They are nice guns.
