I pulled several hundred 3006 rounds that I purchased from an estate sale. I now am the proud owner of a bunch of 180 grain Remington Core-lokt Round Nose. Per a previous tread I am going to load them up in some prepared 308 Lake City brass for my plinking practice loads.
One set of reloading data infers to use 42 g of Varget for 180 grain bullets (Hodgdon reload data for Varget) so I have subtracted 10% and will measure out 38 grains. Now my question is, if I seat the bullet to the cannular the bullet is seated well beneath the neck of the case and measures around 1.60 wherein the suggest max COL for 308 is 1.801. So What would be a suggested COL for this load?
