last time at my lgs i saw he had a model 6. i think it wa a early one but not 100% i only looked at it for a minute. i cant remember if there was any case coloring left. it did have the nice little tang peep, the original rear sight and i think the og front sight. this gun had the short forend and wa marked 22 short long and it my have said LR to.

the butt stock had a small crack on the underside but not bad. the stock looks easy to make a new one. it was a 20 inch barrel. like i said i don't remember to much about it, i will go next week to look at it again. the shop had 200 on it but i think he will go lower for me. jut like to know what u think of the model 6 and if it a deal u would do. the falling/rolling block or what ever remington called this little action seemed to work fine. the bore looked very good.

one other thing. thee are a take down how hard it it to fit a new barrel to one. i have a 24 inch 17 cal barrel laying around, and wa thinking off making it a 17 mach 2. if any one has a good photo of the barrel to see what ha to be done to fit the barrel. thanks troy.

I believe those actions were made from plain, low carbon, unhardned steel. As in not real strong. Don't know what pressures a .17 mach two operates at but if it is higher than a 22 LR I would be wary...

Further, I don't know when the LR high velocity round came out but if that gun is an early one, it might not be able to handle even the HV round.
