Guys, first post. Last year I acquired two new Remingtons, a M-7 Predator in .223 Rem. and a 700LTR in .308. Both have proved to be capable of shooting small groups. The problem from my stand point is those d***n Mark-X triggers. I recently picked up a couple of Timney"s from Midway that were on sale, they both have the safety. The one for the LTR appears to be a drop in. The trigger for the M-7 ( the same as the one for the LTR, as Timney doesn't seem to make one specific for the M-7) is said to be used, except that a couple of minimum modifications need to be made. Has any one here done this installation and/or can clue me in on the proper procedure for this install?? Would be very greatful for any/all info. Thanks! Dan....P.S. I don't care to get into trying to adjust the Mark X, beside I like the grooved wider trigger on the Timney...

Hoghunter........ Thanks for the reply. I do believe in going to the source, but I've called Timney and E-mailed them and no return e-mail (last week) and a recorded message from the tech said that he was away from his desk, but to leave a message and my ph. # and he would get to me ASAP. That is why I thought to ask here, I figured that someone here had done this fix before. As an aside, I did find a tutorial from an editor of a gun magazine that installed one but it appears to involve some machining of the Timney housing. I'm not equipped with a milling machine. I've got some issues with Arthritis and Carpal Tunnel syndrome and I'm looking for a simplified fix. regards DAN...

Timney is probably at the SHOT show, so I wouldn't get too worried about lack of contact yet.

My past experience: usually a minor amount of inletting on the stock along the sides of the trigger for clearance of the safety.

If the trigger is very wide, you may have to relieve the slot in the trigger guard for it to pass through easily.

FWIW

Was contacted by Timney only to find that I've got the wrong trigger. I should be using the one "without the safety" and reuse all of the safety and bolt lock parts on the original M-7 trigger. But the tech mentioned that although they don't make a trigger specifically for the Model 7 at this time, one should be in the works. Thanks guys I appreciate the help. Dan
