Ok I did a search here and only found two post about this and one was mine. So some info anout me first. I am looking at getting a new rifle which I will use for target, varmit, and possibly some big game hunting. I want to get a 308 in my new gun. At present I shoot a 300wm but a couple of years back I buggered my shoulder up and am finaly coming to terms with the fact that the 300wm hurts my shoulder to much and I'm going to end up missing or wounding an animal because I am going to develop a flinch. I realize that having one gun for all three aspects of shooting may be asking alot of one gun, but would like to limit myself to one perchase. I like the VTR because it has the muzzle break (which my shoulder would appreciate even if my ears don't) and when I'm at the bench I always wear ear protection anyways. When doing target shooting I will most likely not go beyond 500 yrds or so. I like the VTR also because the listing has it at 7.5 lbs which is very managable for me. A good scope and away I go. If it went big game hunting it would be used for elk and down sized game. My 300wm mag that I have right now weighs in at near 9.5 lbs with scope so weight isn't a problem for me. So what are some opinions on this rifle. Again I know its a new gun but am just curious what people think of it so far. Thanks for all your help.
