Remington R1 45ACP

My father bought one several years ago. It's a solid 1911 if you don't mind 80 series internals, and if I needed to replace my Colt tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the R1.

Mine was a solid GI style (though series 80) pistol, accurate and reliable.

I currently have one of the R1 Enhanced double stack (15+1 .45) and have nothing but good things to say about it. Accurate and runs every type of ammo I throw at it.

Outstanding bargain for $399 (bought mine last year when Remington offered the $100 cash rebate). Fit & finish are excellent for a basic government model:

Remington R1 45ACP

Anyone have one of these or experience with them?
I have had 2, the stock one and the Custom Carry Commander, Both were excellent and ran perfect. I sold them because I was offered a lot more than I paid both times and to me if I can get 350 more than I paid for any gun that is still available for sale, I will do it all day long. Skick guns had a Flash sale and a rebate on top of that. I got the Carry MSRP over 1000, for $440.00, after rebate.

It was everything I wanted, and nothing I didn't want. Essentially a WWII GI set, but with 1000% better sights that don't ruin the lines too much. I love mine. It's accurate and reliable.

I bought a stainless for a truck gun when my primary was in the shop. The short trigger was too stubby for my hands, so I put a longer trigger in it. Otherwise, it ran perfectly and was pretty accurate. I probably should have kept it, but made money on it when my primary got back (a custom Caspian).
