Remington Sportsman 12 Auto

Anyone know what these are worth? I have a chance to pick one up for $250 locally. It is in excellent(96-97%) condition w/ a 26" Ventilated Rib Mod. Choke bbl. It looks like an 1100, and from what I have gathered it was designed as an economical version of the 1100. Is it worth $250?

That's precisely what they are...... an economical version of the 1100. It's kind of like the 870 Express is to the 870 Wingmaster.

I would say that if it is in 96% to 97% condition, it would easily be worth $250.

They made a Sportsman 12 pump too just before the Express was introduced.

My duck hunting buddy used (and seriously abused) a Sportsman 12 Auto for a decade or more until he cracked the hardwood stock behind the receiver. IIRC he cracked it throwing it in a boat. I've had to clean the mud and feathers out of his by hosing it off in the marina parking lot. They work just as good as an 1100.
