Lets say you were accused of a crime and was arrested, finger printed, etc. Could you get that information removed from the system if you were found not guilty of the crime you were arrested for? A LEO basically made up a crime and charged me with it because I pissed him off. Had to spend a load of cash for a lawyer and got the charges dropped. The officers lied on a police report and tried to screw me over so I want them to have as little information on me as possible. Any tips?

sadly

more lawyer for expungement then run a check on yourself and break it off in em when the check still turns up your name, and if the feds or someone really wanna root around they will still turn up your name

Certain Florida arrest records can be expunged, according to attorney Jon Gutmacher. Some other arrests can not be expunged even though they dropped the charge. He says anyone seeking an expungement should get an attorney due to complexities of the Florida statutes.

He says the law is F.S. 943.0585.

EDIT:
I just noticed you're in Orlando. So is the lawyer. The phone number in his book is 407-650-0770

I think you better call an attorney on this one. In fact, your previous lawyer should have the answer.

"That officer needs to have the tables turned on him, what he did was criminal and he doesn't deserve to wear the uniform any longer."

No kidding. Not to mention he pulled his tazer on me because I picked up the phone to call for another officer because he was lying on the police report.

What were you doing that brought you into contact with Law Enforcement in the first place?

If there was no conviction, you shouldn't have any trouble buying firearms, unless the feds screw up with the NICS info.. But I'd certainly get that stuff off your record...it may affect you in the future if you don't...

Yes, there is, and I just did it last week for another young man wrongfully prosecuted.:)

The procedure is, as others have mentioned, called expungement. Usually reserved for vacations of convictions by the Court of Appeals or Supreme Court, vacation of the conviction by pardon or post-conviction relief petition or a finding by the trial court that there was no probable cause to file the case (other states have other grounds). Normally a dismissal or not guilty finding is not enough to trigger expungement, check local listings.

It would be in best interest to contact your former attorney at once as there may be deadlines involved in your case.
