Remove Moly From Bullet?

Can moly coating be removed from a bullet without damaging the bullet?

I doubt it - at Precision's website they take torch to a round and the lead melts and runs out but the moly is still there. But I guess you could melt all the lead out, then re-cast some bullets!

These are in an assortment of jacketed bullets I got when I picked up a used rifle. I would rather not go the moly route but would hate to throw away the bullets.

I sell industrial lubricants for a living. The great thing about moly is that is almost impossible to wear off.

The bad thing in your case is that moly is almost impossible to wear off

Thanks for the input guys. It's only 3 partial boxes so no great loss.

Soak in very hot water and Dawn for a while, rinse and dry, then tumble in corncob media for an hour or so. Only a trace will remain.
