I just got this in my email. It will be good news if it passes.

Congressman Rick Renzi (R-AZ) is about to introduce
which would force BATF to allow licensed firearms
    dealers to
    conduct face-to-face firearms sales nationwide.

In recent years, the BATF's overzealous enforcement
    has prohibited
licensed firearms dealers from different states from
    face-to-face handgun transfers.

This is despite the fact that, even from BATF's point
    of view, a
face-to-face sale and transfer of a firearm by two
    dealers who have
been licensed by the government would seem to be much
    safer than
forcing the firearms to be shipped through dozens of

ACTION: Please contact your representative and ask
    him to become an
original cosponsor of the Renzi legislation by
Congressman Renzi or by having a staff member call his
    office. You
can visit the Gun Owners Legislative Action Center at

    --- Pre-written message ---

    Dear Representative:

Congressman Rick Renzi has introduced common sense
    legislation that
will allow dealers to conduct face-to-face firearms

He is currently seeking original cosponsors to his
    bill. Please
call him at 202-225-2315 and tell him you will sign
    this bill.
    Thank you.

In May, Gun Owners of America asked you to sign a
requesting Rep. Tom DeLay to let Rep. Ron Paul offer
pulling the U.S. out of the anti-gun U.S.

The good news is the House Majority Leader Tom DeLay
    listened to the
more than 35,000 petition signers and allowed Paul to
    offer his
amendment -- which he did last week. The bad news is
    that the
    amendment lost 350-74.

You can see who voted to keep supporting the
    gun-grabbing UN by
    going to
    on the Internet.

Please thank Rep. Paul for offering his amendment and
    Rep. DeLay for
    allowing the vote.

What's so great about that? Sheesh, I thought that the "face-to-face" transfers would mean that average Joes could transfer guns back and forth without a dealer being involved - you know, like we used to be able to do when the country was actually FREE :fire:
