Does anyone have advise for repairing a rusty S&W 910? It does seem to be in repairable condition, after soaking it in oil to get the slide and action loose. I've used oil and steel wool to brush out rust spots on the slide, and the slide itself is slightly pitted.

The safety is difficult to operate.

The extractor is sealed to the slide with rust between them.

The frame seems okay, but I'll need to take apart the action to be sure.

The barrel is spotless.

Does anyone have a service manual available for the 910?

put it in a pail or pan and cover it with kerosene for a week. maybe more. itr will loosen up eventually to where everything will come loose. then you can blast it with fine grit after cleaning with degreaser. then refinish.

Do I punch out the extractor retainer pin from the top, or the bottom?

Does anyone have a source other than S&W direct for extractors or firing pins? (Brownells and Midway don't have them.) I think the extractor will be okay, but the firing pin is suspect.
