I've read that you should "repair" the garnet shellac finish of your Mosin if it is in decent shape, rather than totally stripping it and redoing from scratch. Easier, more "historic" accuracy, etc.
Anyone have any practical experience doing this? Links to a particular brand of shellac, color, tips, etc greatly appreciated. I am totally new to woodworking. I like this hobby, the more I do the more I learn.
Time to learn more.
Thanks!
