Replacement 7600 barrel

A guy I work with has a remington 7600 pump carbine in .30-06. He doesn't like the recoil of it and would like to either put a muzzle brake on it or buy a longer after market barrel for it. I was wondering if anybody knows if after market barrels are made for this model. Any information will helpful.

I believe the standard rifle barrel for the 7600 series will retro fit the carbine. Check brownells, egunparts.com, or the other usuall sources for the barrel. I'm not sure the increased length will diminish recoil (other than added weight), however, it will create less muzzel blast.

If he goes with a break, it will increase blast, but lessen felt recoil.
